FAQs

Some common questions I've been asked - if you don't see an answer to your question, drop me a line!  I'm always happy to talk about reflexology.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy where applying pressure to parts of the foot affects other parts of the body.

Reflexology has been shown to reduce stress and stimulate circulation to support the body's natural healing, improving recovery from illness and reducing pain in chronic conditions.

What is reflexology good for?

Anything!  Everything!  Reflexology aims to support your body's natural healing and recovery.  I've worked with people looking for help with specific illnesses, pain, side effects of medication, sleep issues, chronic issues, and even clients just wanting a nice hour of self care.

Is it like Reiki?

No, reiki is very different to reflexology.  If that's something you are interested in I can pass you on to another therapist.

Is it ticklish?

No - I used firm positive pressure throughout the treatment.  However if you're really worried we can always start with hand reflexology.

Does it hurt?

Reflexology is deeply relaxing and many clients fall asleep during the treatment.  If you experience any discomfort, we will stop the session right away to prioritise your comfort and well-being.

What if I fall asleep?

Perfect!  That shows you've hit a deep state of relaxation - as a reflexology I class that as a 5 star rating!  I fall asleep on my reflexologist regularly - so don't worry you're in good company.

Is it half price if I only have one leg?

I'm afraid not - however we can use a mix of foot and hand reflexology to achieve some great results!

My friend said reflexology gave them superpowers/cured their illness/diagnosed their ilness

I wish reflexology was that powerful.  Reflexology cannot diagnose, cure or give superpowers.  What it can do is support your body's natural healing,  and show imbalances (more on that later).

You talk about imbalances - what's that?

Imbalances are how we describe the responses from the reflex points, felt by either the reflexologist or the client.  For example, if I'm stressed, my shoulder reflex presents with a noticeable crunch!
